Safari Overview
Every year, over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebra undertake one of nature's most dramatic journeys — the Great Migration across Tanzania's Serengeti plains. This 7–10 day safari places you at the heart of the action, from the vast golden plains of the Central Serengeti to the crocodile-infested crossing points of the Mara River in the north. Guided by our expert TANAPA-licensed guides, you will witness the thundering herds, the leaping crocodiles, the watchful lions — a spectacle that has no equal on earth.

Day 2
The Infinite Plains Await
Depart early for the Serengeti, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descending onto the golden plains. The journey itself is full of wildlife — giraffe, elephant and zebra roam the roadside. By afternoon you are deep in the Serengeti, your tented camp surrounded by the sounds of the wild. An afternoon game drive introduces you to Seronera Valley, one of the most wildlife-rich corridors on the continent.

Day 3
Seronera Valley & the Predators
A full day in the Central Serengeti. Dawn breaks over the Seronera River Valley where lions return from their night hunts and leopards drape themselves across fig tree branches. Cheetahs scan from termite mounds. By mid-morning herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle stretch to the horizon. This is the Serengeti of legend — alive with movement, drama and the raw theatre of nature.

Day 4
The Crossing Begins
Today you drive north, following the migration route toward the Kenyan border. The landscape transitions from open plains to rolling kopje country as you approach the Mara River. Your camp is positioned directly at the most productive crossing point on the entire migration circuit. As you settle in, the thunder of hooves grows louder — tomorrow, the river crossing awaits.

Day 5
1.5 Million Wildebeest
This is the day. Your guide positions you at the optimal crossing point before dawn. The tension builds as the herds gather on the Tanzanian bank — thousands of animals milling nervously, testing the water. Then one goes in, and the stampede begins. A wall of wildebeest plunges into the crocodile-filled waters in a primal, chaotic surge. Nile crocodiles erupt from the depths. The roar of hooves and splashing water fills the air. This is the most extraordinary wildlife moment on earth — and you are here.

Day 6
The Eighth Wonder
Departing the Mara River, you drive south to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area — home to the world's most intact caldera ecosystem. Descend 600 metres into the crater floor where 25,000 animals live within the natural confines of this ancient collapsed volcano. Black rhino, lion prides, vast buffalo herds, spotted hyena clans and pink flamingo-filled soda lakes — the Crater delivers an entirely different and unforgettable dimension to your safari.
Ngorongoro Rim Lodge · Full Board

Day 7
Until Next Time, Tanzania
After a final breakfast with views across the crater highlands, your guide transfers you back to Arusha and onward to Kilimanjaro International Airport. The journey home gives you time to reflect — the crossing, the lions, the crater, the stars above the Serengeti. For those wishing to extend their experience, optional extensions to Zanzibar or the Tarangire are available. Days 8–10 are available for custom extensions.
